Pennyrose Wiggins- artist, sculptor, designer and New Zealander.
My studio practice is driven by my strong connection with nature on a spiritual and emotional level. I am interested in creating my own ‘dreamscapes’. My dreamscapes are a tool to install a sense of preservation, conservation and a connection with the land in the viewer.
I was born in New Zealand completing a degree in Visual Arts and Design in 2009. In 2011 I moved to Darwin holding a solo show BIG COUNTRY pixels at Don Whyte Framing in 2013, and later that year was selected as a finalist for the Togart Contemporary Art Award exhibition.
I have exhibited with Outstation Gallery in the group exhibition Off Whyte, held in November 2013. And most recently my solo exhibition Koe: Bird calls from the past and present, held in April 2016.
I have work held with the Artbank Collection, the Charles Darwin University Art Collection and works held in private collections in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. I am currently painting in Darwin.
